Text: Start with Content and Structure will follow

  • Use Headings for those text items which are headers; don't just use font style or physical styles to make something look like a heading.

  • Similarly, use lists for all lists.

  • Use physical text styles (bold, italics, underline, fixed-pitch) to change the look of text.

  • Use logical text (Citation, code, definition, emphasis) styles for defining what the contents of the text are.

  • Never BLINK (overused and detracts from your content)

  • Start using the much-more powerful CSS for controlling your text.

  • Use 'BREAK's to add a carriage return within a paragraph.  Don't use  BREAKs to define paragraphs (Example)
