Auto/Manual Switch

The surest way of disabling the laser and servo systems (other than removing power from the unit) is to set the Auto/Manual front panel switch to the Manual position. In this mode, it will disable the power supplies that supply the laser and oscillator systems (useful for RFI testing), and it will also disable both of the axis amplifiers. When in the Manual mode, no measurements can be made, and the servo system cannot be used to point to targets. The position of the Auto/Manual front panel switch can be determined remotely by examining the ZY's status word (see STW).
