System Overview

The goal of the ZY rangefinder is to provide an absolute, accurate range to a virtual point represented by the retroreflector. ``Virtual'' in this context means that the range measured is to a virtual point behind (or within) a retroreflector, depending on the construction of the retroreflector. Every hardware and software module that comprises the ZY system is there to help in some way to achieve this goal.
