Booting the ZY
As described in appendix A, the ZY computers boot
from a local 1.44 MByte floppy. DOS and the network software
reside on this floppy, as well as a simple FTP client program,
RLOAD.EXE, whose sole purpose is to retrieve the ZY executable.
After RLOAD.EXE successfully terminates, ZY.EXE
is executed, and initializes itself. Booting thus involves
ensuring that the proper hardware is installed, inserting a boot
diskette that was created according to the instructions in appendix
A, and turning on the power. At the end of
the boot process, the ZY is ready to be used.
