630TEST.EXE

The program 630TEST.EXE is a small DOS utility used to test the Bancomm bc630AT Real Time Clock board[17]. This hardware is shipped from the manufacturer with a test program, but unfortunately this program does not allow I/O port addresses lower than 200h. The bc630AT address used in the ZY system is at 130h (see Appendix C). When testing a bc630AT board that is already installed in a ZY panel, the tester was required to remove the board, look up the address setting instructions in the bc630AT manual, and change the DIP switches. When done testing, the tester had to reset the DIP switches to the old address. And of course by changing the address of the bc630AT to test it, address conflicts became a possibility. To avoid all of these problems, I wrote 630TEST.EXE to look for the bc630AT at address 130h. This way, the board does not have to be removed and have its address changed. This program attempts to reset the bc630AT, initialize it, and if successful displays the complete time data, data register contents, and status register information.
