To use the ZY systems, the following hardware and software is
required:
- ZY Hardware:
- ISA bus computer with at least an Intel 386
microprocessor, with at least 4 MB of memory.
- Intel 387 or better math co-processor.
- At least 1 floppy disk (other storage media optional).
- Any display adapter (the computer will not run
without one).
- Quatech DAQ-16 100 kHz A/D converter. See
appendix C for resource assignments
(I/O, IRQ, DMA).
This board must be modified as per drawing D35420S002.
- MICRO RC 5328 Motion Control Card. See
appendix C for resource assignments.
- 3COM Etherlink II or Etherlink III ethernet adapter,
or other suitable Network Interface Card (NIC). See
appendix C for resource assignments.
- Bancomm bc630AT Real Time Clock Board. See
appendix C for resource assignments.
This adapter synchronizes to the site IRIG-B time signal.
- A connection to a TCP/IP LAN.
- ZY Software:
A ZY boot diskette, containing the following:
- MS-DOS version 5.0 or greater, including
HIMEM.SYS and EMM386.EXE.
- FTP Software PC/TCP for DOS version 2.1 or greater.
- RLOAD.EXE version 1.0, configured to download
the ZY program ZY.EXE from the ZIY host computer.
A ZIY computer is also required. This computer, in addition to being
the host for the ZIY program, also maintains the FTP server directory
structure that is used by the ZY computer to retrieve the ZY executable
and the ZY initialization files. Currently, this computer is a Pentium
PCI machine running Microsoft Windows NT Workstation version 4.0. For
