Checkout of 12-15GHz receiver, Nov 2003.

On Nov 14, 2003, some test observations were done with the 12_15 GHz receiver, newly re-installed after refurbishments.

Spectra were taken on and off calibration source 3C48. Total power nodding scans were done, each 60 seconds duration, with 3C48 alternately in beam 1 and 2. The 800 MHz mode of the ACS was used, with 2 simultaneous spectral bands, and three separate frequency settings to cover the band, as listed in the following table.

 project code: TRCO_NOV14

   Scans Band Centers
  -------- --------------
    50-51 14.90 15.65 GHz
    52-53 14.90 15.65 GHz
    54-55 13.40 14.15
    56-57 13.40 14.15
    58-59 11.90 12.65
    60-61 11.90 12.65

Plot 1 shows uncalibrated off-source spectra of all six bands. The two traces are the two polariztions: RCP and LCP. The bandpasses look very rippley, which is typical of 800 MHz spectra with this system.

A closer look at the 12-13 GHz region shows a possible RFI spike.
Plot 2 is raw data for the 12-13 GHz band showing a spike at 12.887 GHz.
