Water Maser Monitoring of Low and Intermediate Mass Young Stellar Objects
Abstract
We propose a water maser monitoring project using the GBT toward
low- and intermediate young stellar objects. Such a monitoring
proposal will have several benefits in the study of these
objects among which are: 1) allow triggered VLBA observations to
study the spatial structure of rather weak masers, 2) to study the
variability and investigate the causes and effects of the
variability, and 3) help determine the evolutionary status
of the water masers as they pertain to the evolution of the
young stellar objects themselves. We request 4 hours of
telescope time every two weeks over the course of the next
eight months.
