A 20 cm Search for Pulsars in Globular Clusters

Abstract

We propose to survey 20 or more globular clusters at 1400 MHz, searching for pulsars using the incoherent-GBPP backend. We request two 4-hour observations of each source, for the purposes of immediate confirmation and interference mitigation. The proposed search will look for slow and millisecond pulsars, both isolated and in long- and short-orbital-period binaries, with significant sensitivity to sub-millisecond pulsations.
