Implementing the Quiet Skies project will take about 2 weeks, particularly at the high school level. Your students will need access to a computer lab in order to research internet sites and access the database on the Quiet Skies Web site.

The Quiet Skies Project is a free loan program to qualified schools/ teachers. NRAO will send you the Quiet Skies Kit. Each kit will contain:

2 Quiet Skies Detectors with tripods,

1 cool little transmitter to hide that only the Quiet Skies Detector will be able to see

2 ETREX GPS receivers

5 US Spectrum Allocation Charts

5 EM Spectrum Charts

10 AM radios for the intro activities

Lots of batteries, battery charger
