Observational Setup

1. Monitoring
Bring CLEO up to monitor various parameters.

> cleo

2. Configuration

Use glish scripts to setup the system. These files are located at
/home/groups/ptcs/obs/setup/. The following csh scripts will
source the appropriate files and execute the glish scripts.

> /home/groups/ptcs/bin/pntX # X-band
> /home/groups/ptcs/bin/pntC # C-band

Alternatively,

> source /home/gbt/gbt.csh
> glish -l /home/groups/ptcs/obs/setup/setup_pntX.g # X-band
> glish -l /home/groups/ptcs/obs/setup/setup_pntC.g # C-band
Note: do not run these scripts in the GO glish session.

3. GBT Observe (GO)

Start the GBT Observing interface (GO). This can be performed
by running the following csh script.

> /home/groups/ptcs/bin/runGO

Alternatively,

> source /home/gbt/gbt.csh
> GO

Load the following tables using the GO Table panel.

/home/groups/ptcs/obs/setup/pntX.obs # X-band
/home/groups/ptcs/obs/setup/pntC.obs # C-band

The table is divided into a section called "Configuration" and a
section called "Observing". In the configuration section a series of
data blocks are defined that setup varius GO parameters. Run these
blocks. For example, in the X-band table select the following lines
and hit Run.

# Initial setups
setsc
setx
setcont
xpeak
xfocus

Now you are ready to observe. In the observing section of the table
select the appropriate lines and hit Run.

4. IARDS

For now use IARDS to reduce pointing and focus data.
