Frontends, IFs, and Spectral Baselines (For 12/22/03 - 12/31/03) The X-band refrigerator failed and was repaired over the Christmas holidays. No problems with the Q-band cals have been reported since the rebuilt cal card was installed. A TP instability in one channel which was reported is believed to have been due to an IF cable, which was replaced this week. R. Fisher, J. Ford, and M. Stennes did testing which confirmed that the 28.75Hz modulation which impacts some pulsar and radar programs originates in the SAO maser. Follow-up work is being planned. B. Simon is near completion of construction, tuning, and test of 7-14GHz microstrip filters for the mmconverters. Two higher frequency types will follow on. We are beginning plans for upgrade of the X-band receiver for work at 11.1GHz by specifying and ordering components. -- RDN 12/31/2003 3. Spectrometer Status 4. Software Status 5. No conflicts were present. Many staff off this week. <2> Observing Schedule discussions Dynamically scheduled maintenance days discussion of Bob's draft. Bob received no negative comments, so the plan will go on as drafted. Bob will circulate the memo to the staff. <3> GBT development planning Last minute notes on afternoon meeting Richard cancelled out due to observing, so no activity here <4> AOB Support over the holidays SDD has a Web page with callout list for the holiday periods Electronics will have standard callout list. New wind algorithm will be implemented as soon as Bob can get the procedures out to the operators. Notes since December 22nd: Cycle 1 2004 planning meeting was held Monday afternoon. Most project managers could use additional personnel, but allocations will keep projects moving at an acceptable rate. -- JF 7. Any other Business
