targeting Teachers in West Virginia, Maryland and Virginia
Spend a week at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory in Green Bank, WV to learn about stars, the sun and its effects on Earth, and radio astronomy!
NASA Goddard's Solar Terrestrial Probes (STP), Living With A Star (LWS) Program and the National Radio Astronomy Observatory (NRAO) in Green Bank are hosting a six-day astronomy institute! The program is residential and will require participants to live at Green Bank, West Virginia. Lodging, meals, materials and fees are provided for successful applicants. The only item participants will be responsible for will be transportation.
Participants will:
- use astronomical instruments to investigate the sun and stars.
- interact with NASA and NRAO scientists.
- participate in a stellar astronomy mini-course.
- receive astronomy related classroom materials.
- have a blast!
3 Hours of Graduate Credit are available, tuition deferred, through West Virginia University, though off-campus fees apply. A small stipend will be awarded to offset off-campus fees.
