As an introduction, the screen provides a visual overview of the main areas the program. The opening screen of OPSLOG consists of these main areas:
Menu and tool bar.
Tab access to the basic operators data.
Current shift information.
Data order and speed search.
Current observing type and proposal code, receiver.
Log entry Browse window.
Current log entry information.

A pop up menu is activated by right clicking anywhere on the OPSLOG screen. With this menu you can navigate the log entries , edit existing log entries, add new log entries, save changes or cancel changes.
The Edit option from the menu bar will bring up similar options to the pop up menu for adding new log entries, changing existing entries as well as saving or cancelling changes.
The Maintenance from the Menu bar allows navigating the log entries.
The tool bar also has the usual fair of options. The first option (open door) will close the program resulting in the log out screen being presented. In addition there are navigation buttons as well as a "change the mode to edit" to allow editing and save and cancelling any changes buttons.
