If calling 9-911, provide the phone number where you are calling from as their system will see only the NRAO GB front desk number and not your extension.

STEP

ACTION

1

Note time and determine:Caller's name/phone number or location.

  • What happened, when and where?

  • Are there any injuries?

  • Who is/are injured?

  • Extent of injuries?

  • Is there a death?

Suspend all work associated with an accident which resulted in injury or death.

Determine if scene is secure (i.e. scene is not dangerous to anyone rendering assistance.)

Direct/initiate first aid as appropriate.

If immediate medical attention is required, dial 9-911, (if you are at the GBT warehouse just dial 911), to arrange care and/or transport of victim. Request Search and Rescue support if needed.

Notify NRAO Emergency Response Team (ERT) (if High Angle Rescue required). Reference ERT Roster.

Monitor situation and transmit information to 9-911 if required.

Inform safety officer, Jody Bolyard at 2223.

Inform Mike Holstine at 2231

Inform division head/s as required.

Coordinate ambulance/ERT actions upon their arrival.

Log actions.
