Ensure the remote is on by making sure the unit is plugged into a wall outlet and look for text in the Frequency & Clock Display. Also note that one of the Line Select buttons has a red LED illuminated.

Select proper operating channel by pressing
the appropriate Line Select button twice.
The red LED will be lit on the selected line. Line Select button assignments are:

Set the Main Volume control to desired level to hear radio traffic. |

Pick up the handset and place it next to your ear & mouth, just like a telephone handset. |

Press the PTT button on the handset & speak into handset in a normal voice. Release the PTT button when finished. |

Listen for reply traffic. |

Sign off with FCC assigned call sign KNAP301 when finished with conversation. |

5 |
Place the handset back in the cradle. |
