The following procedures are used to startup and close the GBT Observe (GO) and Cleo applications.

Ensure the correct environment is sourced. source /home/gbt/gbt.bash |

If you wish to start up GO with all
devices selected, proceed to step 3. To select or exclude specific devices,
enter: GO T
GO will proceed to launch with a menu appearing in a few moments. Select or deselect the desired devices then press the Start GBT Observe GUI button. The GO main menu will appear in a few moments. |

Type: GO |

To close GO, Dismiss any device / tables panels opened. In the xterm window used to launch the application hit a return. The "-" glish prompt should appear. Type exit. If the glish prompt doesn't appear hitting ctrl-c will kill it. |

In the glish window type [ctrl-c] This should prompt you with the question: "Do you wish to exit glish? y/n |

Type "Y" or "y" |

Restart GO with the command: "GO T n" where "n" is any number. |

If this is unsuccessful, in a new x-term window type "glish -l fixGoHang.g" and Enter. |

Restart GO with the command: "GO" |

Go should be able to start successfully. If not contact Tony Minter or Frank Ghigo. |

From the operators console enter, in an xterm window, enter: cleo |

The Cleo Launch menu will appear. From here you can launch additional applications as needed. |

To close Cleo applications, simply press the quit buttons located on each application. |
