GBT OPERATIONS PROCEDURES

Title: Cleo Gateway Management

Warning

Only persons authorized by the operator or management personnel should be allowed access to Cleo applications linked to control the GBT or its electro-mechanical systems. Do not disclosed the gateway access password to unauthorized persons.

General

The Cleo Gateway is a password protected application used to manage access to GBT devices. Access to these devices will be restricted to those having operational or maintenance needs to them. The duty operator and/or specified management personnel will control device access. Contact the GBT Supervisor if you have questions concerning the granting or revoking of access privileges.    

Granting Cleo Permissions using the Gateway Application.

Launch the CLEO Gateway application: CLEO launch®Utilities/Tools®Gateway

At the login window enter the appropriate name and password (see login/password list). The Gateway application will appear.

If the person requesting access is already in the list, skip to step 4. If not, click on Add in the Users frame. Enter the persons user name and an alias. The alias, if used, should be the persons last name followed by the first name. (an alias is NOT required). Click Add to add this person to the USERS list.

Example: "ou812" for ou812@virgo.gb.nrao.edu

Find the persons name in the Users frame and single click it (automatically enters this information in the User field).

If the computer the User is logging into is already listed in the Computers frame, skip to step 6. If not, click on Add Computer in the Computer frame and fill in the "Canonical" name for the computer being added. Example: virgo.gb.nrao.edu (this has to be exact!). Fill in a Description (computer name) for the computer being added. Example: Virgo. Click Add to add the computer to the list

 Find the computer name in the Computer frame and single click it (automatically enters this information in the User field).

Single click on the device for which permissions are being requested (automatically enters this information in the Device field).

Press the Allow button. Access to the device is now granted.

All permissions currently allowed are listed in the Permissions frame. This can be sorted by device or user as desired by using the "radio buttons" at the bottom of the frame.

Repeat steps 3-8 for allowing access to multiple devices.

 

Revoking Cleo Permissions using the Gateway Application.

At the login window enter the appropriate name and password (see login/password list). The Gateway application will appear.

Set the Sort by option to User in the Permissions frame (the window now displays user names of persons currently with device access).

Find the persons name. A single click will fill in the information in the User, Computer, and Device fields. Revoke permissions using the Revoke button. Alternatively a double click will automatically initiate a revoke.

A confirmation screen will appear. Click OK to revoke permissions

Repeat steps 3-5 for revoking access to multiple devices.

Note

The Recent button displays a list of permissions that have been set or revoked during the current usage session. It can be used to quickly add or revoke previous permissions.
