Title: Launching the BCPM interface

General

Starting the BCPM GUIs andTUI is done from a single x-term window. A second x-term window will be used to start GO and a third will be needed if a setup script will be used.

A password is required specifically for the BCPM. Obtain this password from another operator or the observer before attempting to launch the windows.

Type "ssh  sadira"

Type "ssh bcpm2 -l bcpm2"

Enter the password when prompted

At the next prompt type "L"

At the next prompt type "ui"

Press "enter" when prompted for a login name

This procedure will open 4 diplays. If needed the user can enter words from the command set to adjust BCPM settings. These commands are entered in the "blue" window and followed with the enter key to initiate them. Some of the more useful commands are:

monitor

This command sets up the BCPM (for search and voltage sampling modes) and acquires data without saving it to disk or tape.

takedata This command is used in search and voltage sampling modes to commence taking of a stretch of search data to disk or tape.
timing This command is used to set up the BCPM in timing mode and start acquiring data.
stop Stops the BCPM and saves the last data sample to disk or to tape.
abort Stops the BCPM without saving the last data sample to disk or to tape.

setpower

Runs a script on the BCPM to set the power levels in the channels.
