STEP

ACTION

1

Enter the gbiop password to unlock the screen saver on Marsha (Linux machine in USNO control room closest to the door to the server room).

2

In the window labeled "T85_3": Click on the Control Mode "Auto" button.

3

Check the date and time on this window and in the T85-3 User Control window. The time should be within one second of that on the irig display under the 20meter OCU monitor or on the GPS monitor on the cart in the center of the room.

4

In the "T85-3 User Control" window: Click on the "Interactive" button.

5

If necessary to set the date and/or time, click on the "set clock" button and follow the format to set it.

6

Click on "Get .obs".

7

Use the scroll bar to scroll down the right-most window box (underneath the "quit" button) and click on the "pulsar53.obs" filename.

8

Click on "run obs".

You should hear the Stow brakes pumping off on the monitor system box (beside the PC monitor). The red highlighted Brakes "On" windows should change to "Off" and the antenna should slew to the first source.

9

Click on the lock picture on the status bar at the bottom right corner of the screen to lockout the terminal.

10

Make sure Backer's PC in the equipment room is running.

11

Make note of the time you started observing on the paper log on the desk beside osiris and in the GBT OPSLOG program.

If you have any concerns or problems, call Pete.
