The unblocked aperture of the GBT should significantly improve the
quality of the spectral baselines. Nevertheless, second order effects
will exist and spectral baseline structure can arise in other parts of
the system (e.g., reflections in the IF system). At the very best we
hope to isolate the specific causes for the baseline structure and
remove them. If we are unable to eliminate these features in the
spectrum we may be able to calibrate them sufficiently to remove them
in the data reduction process.
