Standard Interface Board (SIB)
The SIB is a general purpose interface card that connects a serial
line to some digital and analog hardware. The card itself consists of
a microcontroller, memory, digital I/O, and an analog-to-digital
converter. Firmware in the board is configured by the hardware to
respond to commands with a certain address sent by the host. In
response to these commands, either a word is written to an
address in the SIB, or a word is read from the address in the SIB.
