Description

The MCB software is a layer on top of the SIB driver. The SIB driver converts the commands of the client program into bits on the serial cable, and vice versa. This MCB layer handles the arbitration of access to the serial ports, assigns the SIBs to ports, and in general manages the MCB. This layer shall maintain the information necessary to test the individual SIBs to ensure that the software and hardware are synchronized, for instance in case power is cycled to the device, the previous state can be reloaded by the MCB software layer.
