GBT RAID
The GBT data acquisition is performed via computers, and the data is
stored in a RAID
(Redundant Array of Independent Disks).
This gives us several advantages:
- Fault Tolerance - any individual drive in the array may be lost
without losing any data.
- Speed - The data is spread over multiple spindles, allowing
greater parallelism.
The particular RAID we have picked out is the
Raid Box 5300 Turbo
from
Box Hill Systems.
