Radiometer Sensitivity

	The expected r.m.s. noise can be calculated using the
following equation:


         K * Tsys
RMS = -----------------
       sqrt(BW * Teff)
 
where,

RMS  = r.m.s. sensitivity [K]
K    = 1.12 (NRAO Model IV Autocorrelator)
Tsys = system temperature [K]
BW   = bandwidth [Hz]
Teff = effective integration time [s]

        Ton*Toff
Teff = -----------
       Ton + Toff


A general rule of thumb is


             pi * Tsys
RMS = -------------------------
      sqrt(2) * sqrt(BW * Ttot)


where

pi = 3.14
Ttot = total integration time [s]; assuming total power 
position switching, i.e., on source half the time.
